The Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex,
Home of Cooley Health, Science, & Technology High School
AND Providence Academy of International Studies Providence Public School District
I'm so grateful to have your contribution to our library. I have to congratulate you on the work you do. It's so meaningful to schools like mine. Having more books on the shelves means everything for our students. They really love new titles, and it is so hard to keep up with the limited budget that I receive.
Thanks,
Peter Quesnel

Flamingnet Sponsors Baltimore City Community Book Club
Sherice G. of Baltimore City contacted us in June 2007 after finding our site on the Internet and noticing that we are located in Baltimore. She told us that she wanted to form a summer book club for children in her neighborhood and asked if we could help. Thanks to our members and the purchases they made on Amazon.com through Flamingnet, we were able to buy books for Sherice's book club.

"It is always great when you can encourage others to read and help them discover for themselves how much fun reading can be. Thank you!"
Sherice

Helping Hands
Flamingnet contributes books to Helping Hands of the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. Ms. Mara Daniel is the faculty sponsor. Through the efforts of Helping Hands, our books have been donated to students at inner city Baltimore schools, such as the Furman Templeton Elementary School.

Freedom to Read
Flamingnet has financially contributed to the Freedom to Read Foundation. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees all individuals the right to express their ideas without governmental interference, and to read and listen to the ideas of others. The Freedom to Read Foundation was established to promote and defend this right; to foster libraries and institutions wherein every individual’s First Amendment freedoms are fulfilled; and to support the right of libraries to include in their collections and make available any work which they may legally acquire.

The Wilmer Hall Children's Home, Mobile, Alabama
The programs and services at Wilmer Hall meet the needs of children who are unable to live with their natural families, due to neglect, abuse, or other reasons.

Educating the children has always been a priority at Wilmer Hall. Over the years, the residents have attended public schools. However, as the staff received more children behind in their schoolwork or finding it difficult to adjust to public schools, they recognized a need for an on-campus facility. The Murray School was founded in 1992. The school offers classes in the sixth through 12th grades.

Flamingnet has donated books to The Wilmer Hall Children's Home to help with their library.

Books for Disaster Relief
"The Texas library community is rallying to rebuild hope and the future for victims of Hurricane Katrina. TLA applauds the efforts of local librarians in quickly responding to the incredible challenges in many communities."

Flamingnet donated books to TLA for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. TLA received approximately 60,000 pounds of books from donations and thanked the national community of book lovers for their support.

Books for Boys
" 'Reading should be fun,' Allyn, founding director of the innovative literacy program, Books for Boys, insists. Her mission is radical in its reach and simplicity: to bring the joy of books and reading to some of the most neglected children in our society. More than 300 boys live at Children’s Village, a residential treatment center for emotionally troubled boys in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. Children’s Village provides extended, intensive therapeutic care for children in the foster-care system who can no longer function in a family setting. These are children who need serious help for serious problems."

Books donations for boys at the Children's Village can be sent to Books for Boys, 1 North Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706. The boys range in age from 6 - 18 and mainly enjoy books with pictures and funny. quick reads.

Flamingnet has donated books to this very worthwhile program.
