Aaron, a ten-year-old boy, has just moved from the big city where he grew up to the middle of Amish country. Talk about changes. His new home is an abandoned Amish farm with quite a bit of history. When Aaron discovers a faded diary page and map in the old barn he sets out to solve its mysteries. Jake, the girl on the neighboring farm, tells him about the Amish boy who used to live on Aaron's farm before disappearing, drawn into the woods by the wind. Together they follow the map, piecing together the hundred-year-old mystery and discovering secrets they never thought possible.

The Time Cavern, although set in present day, has an errie futuristic feel. The well-paced movement of the storyline kept me interested all the way through. I really enjoyed this book, finding the characters easy to relate to and the science fiction theme appealing. Description throughout The Time Cavern was well done making it easy to get involved in the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes something unique or wants a fun, quick read.

What would you do if you could travel through time?

What if it was only a one-way trip?

[The Time Cavern] reminded me of Madeleine L'Engel's sci-fi/science-themed children's books - an intelligent youth literature combination of adventure, fantasy and science. Aileen Cho - Associate Editor, McGraw-Hill

Book Description
When ten-year-old Aaron moved from the big city to the middle of Amish country, he felt transported to a different and simpler time and place.

But after finding a faded and long forgotten diary page of a boy gone missing over one hundred years earlier, Aaron began an adventure more wondrous and exciting than he could have ever imagined.

Befriended by a local farm girl named Jake, together they search for answers to this century long mystery and uncover the secrets of an astounding cavern that will take them to the edge of time itself.

Reviews
"Fonseca has a talent for appealing to a young audience in the use of his subject matter... independence, moving to a new home, making friends, being afraid, exploration... [The Time Cavern] is an adventure story that both kids and adults will love. It feeds the imagination. Shannon Yarbrough - lulubookreview" Shannon Yarbrough - lulubookreview
