"Gone From These Woods" is about a boy named Daniel and
his Uncle Clay. His Uncle Clay decides to take Daniel out
hunting. When they see a rabbit, Daniel gets down in his
stance... but he won't shoot the rabbit. So he gets up,
but he gets up the wrong way, his gun is pointing at his
Uncle Clay. While he is getting up, the 410 gun triggers
backwards and pierces his uncle's heart. Clay dies. Daniel
feels that he can't live through the guilt and pain of
shooting his uncle. So, on Christmas morning, he finds his
410 gun and goes into the woods where his Uncle Clay had
been shot. Daniel stands in between the trees and thinks
about his mean dad and the guilt and the pain. He decides
he can't live through it anymore. So, he takes his 410
gun holds it to his forehead and puts his finger on the
trigger......
I thought this book was relly good. It is
very hard to predict what is going to happen next. This
book is really surprising. There are so many things in
this book that you don't see coming.
